A Hectic Past Few Days But That's A Good Thing!!

The past few days have been a bit crazy, I've sourced quite a bit of fabric and had a look in to attending some local craft fairs and after visiting a handmade only craft fair on Saturday at Stanwick Lakes, I've now got a stall at their craft fair on 22nd September, how exciting?! I'm thinking people (the organised ones) will be starting their Christmas shopping so I'm going to design and make some Christmas dresses. I'm also thinking of having a Chrismas package offer but need to think of some more ideas for this first!

Since posting on a supermums craft group my likes on my page on facebook have tripled so that's amazing news!! I've had some orders for some Christmas dresses and started one today - it's not quite finished but it's almost there. Just needs a bow and a hem ribbon :)

I'll post some more pictures once I've finished, it's going to have an interchangeable bow so that it can be used after Christmas too :)

First dresses...

Here are a few of the dresses I have made so far, mainly in sizes 0-3, 3-6 and 6-9 months. The first one is the one I made for my daughter Chloe for a family wedding we attended, I think the fabrics look gorgeous together :)

Fabrics...

Here is a sample of some of the fabric that I have sourced for my dresses :)

This week...

This past week I've been concentrating on creating a logo (above) and setting up my facebook page and sharing it on various sites to try and get my dresses noticed. I have also got some dresses for sale in my friend's vintage pop up shop http://thebeautifulandthedamnedvintage.blogspot.co.uk/ and I sold my first dress there on Saturday and I also received 2 orders this week. One is for a Christmas dress which I'm very excited about and I am loving sourcing Christmas fabric and coming up with design ideas.

Starting off....

After getting bored of seeing the same old dresses in town each week I decided to put my sewing skills to some use and made some dresses for my daughter to wear. After receiving lots of positive comments about them I began making some dresses in various in fabrics I had and I also managed to source some beautiful Clarke & Clarke, Ikea and Laura Ashley fabrics to use. I've been mixing these prints with various plain cottons to create some lovely designs. The next step will be to create some fabulous party dress ready for Christmas.

I've started to make a Facebook page www.facebook.com/chloescastle I will upload some pictures of my dresses soon :)
